# Government Teacher Salary in Nepal: Check the Official Pay Scale

How candidates can verify community-school teacher pay, applicable benefits, and deductions from official sources.

## Use the scale that applies to the appointment

Teacher pay depends on the teaching level, approved post, grade, employer, and appointment type. Permanent community-school teachers, grant-funded teachers, and school-funded or private-school teachers should not be assumed to share the same pay terms.

The Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO), under the Ministry of Finance, publishes the official public-service pay-scale notice effective from 2083 Shrawan 1. Use the [specific FCGO notice](https://fcgo.gov.np/content/404/salary-of-national-service-employees-effective-from/) and match the relevant schedule row to the post and appointment documents. The [Teachers Service Commission](https://tsc.gov.np/) publishes recruitment information; a recruitment notice is not by itself a full statement of a teacher’s net pay or benefits.

## Match the community-school schedule

The FCGO notice effective from 2083 Shrawan 1 includes a separate schedule for teachers working in community schools. It breaks out pay by teaching level and grade. Match the teacher’s approved post and grade to that schedule before calculating pay; it does not set the terms for every private, relief, or school-funded appointment.

## Build a reliable comparison

- Confirm the school type, employer, teaching level, post, and appointment status.
- Use the salary scale effective on the relevant date and check the grade shown for that post.
- Add only allowances that the appointment terms and current rules make applicable.
- Check employee contributions and tax separately; voluntary savings are not mandatory deductions.
- Treat pension or retirement benefits as dependent on appointment date and the applicable scheme.
